Hakuna Matata Watersports began with a love story, a shared passion for the ocean and a dream of creating unforgettable watersports experiences in Diani Beach, Kenya.

I first travelled from Europe to Kenya for a professional conference—and to fulfil my dream of learning to kitesurf. That dream brought me to beautiful Diani Beach, where I met Abdul, my Kenyan kitesurf instructor.

​

During our kite lessons, we discovered that despite coming from different continents and cultures, we shared the same values: kindness, respect, adventure, family and a deep love for the sea. Somewhere between the wind, the waves and the sunsets, our friendship became a love story—and then a shared dream.

Together, we created Hakuna Matata Watersports: a welcoming watersports centre where local experience meets brand-new premium equipment.

We offer in Diani Beaach IKO-certified kitesurfing instruction, kite equipment rental, as well as jet ski rental and guided trips, and soon we will bring you stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and surfing experiences as well.

​

Our experienced local team knows the area’s winds, tides, currents and changing ocean conditions. Safety is at the heart of everything we do: members of our team hold certified first aid qualifications, and we use quality safety gear and internationally recognised practices.

Whether you are learning to kitesurf, riding a jet ski or paddling across the Indian Ocean, we want you to feel safe, confident and warmly welcomed.
